Help Us Out

Volunteering

Scouting relies on volunteers to help run each of the sections. Every adult and young person leading the groups is a volunteer. No one is paid for any of the work they do.

If you can help, however much time you are able to give, we’d love you to get in touch – you might even enjoy it as much as your child!

There are different options for volunteering:

  1. Sections: volunteer with our young people as a leader/ assistant leader / helper / young leader (14-18 year olds).
  2. Trustees: the trustees ensure the smooth running of the organisation and give extra support to group camps etc. There are positions of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee member. We hold an AGM in June/July every year when these positions are re-elected.

Donations and Fundraising

11th Edgware Scouts is a charity and as such, rely on Membership Fees and donations in order to support our group. Membership Fees are kept as low as possible in order that as many young people as possible are able to take part in our activities. 11th Edgware never turn any young person away from taking part in activities due to financial circumstance.

Grants and Trusts

Help us apply to a local Grant or Trust giving body.

In 2021, we have had generous grants from:

The Jewish Youth Trust

Oxford and St George’s Jewish Youth Fund

Sponsorship

If you are a local business that would like to sponsor a local youth group, there are ways your businesses can help us – could you donate materials, food for camp or equipment? Or could you sponsor a young person to attend camp via a bursary?

With grateful thanks to the following companies who donated in 2021:

OGR Stock Denton

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
