11th Edgware Cubs

The Cub Pack

11th Edgware Cub Scouts meet on a Monday evening from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.    Girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 10 years are welcome.  Once a cub has attended a few meetings they will be invested as a member of the pack, which includes a simple ceremony lasting 5 – 10 minutes, to which all family members are welcome.

Activities

There are loads of fun things that can be enjoyed during cubs, including the chance to try lots of different activities like exploring, collecting, music and computing.  One of the highlights of the year will be a camping trip when the cubs will get to experience sleeping in tents, taking part in activities such as climbing, archery, and other outdoor activities.

Cub Scouts offers a full balanced programme using a range of activities, events and experiences built around the six main areas of Beliefs and Attitudes, Community, Fitness, Creative, Global, and Outdoor and Adventure.

A varied mix of activities are run including games, team challenges, visits and visitors, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and trying new things.

All the achievements (however big or small) of the cubs are recognized by challenge and activity badges that are worn on their uniform.

The Aims of Cub Scouts

At Cubs we aim to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals.  Cubs helps them to become self reliant, caring and responsible young adults who show a commitment to the community.

These aims are met by ensuring that the cubs take part in a variety of activities and new experiences, exploring the outdoors, participating in teams and taking responsibility for their actions.
